Mind Body Medicine is a general term referring to applications of a cutting edge science of mind body relationships that has emerged over the last twenty-five years from cross disciplinary research in quantum physics,
psychoneuroimmunology, microbiology,
immunology, and Eastern energetic healing practices.
In this new field, science and metaphysics converge as scientific discoveries on the relationship between our state of mind and our physical health validate and expand ancient knowledge found in every culture. In short, we now have a more scientific understanding of why and how the techniques taught in older cultures actually work, and therefore, how to use the ancient techniques in new and more powerful ways. Among the modalities considered mind body medicine are Meditation, Qigong, Tai Chi, Yoga, EFT (Tapping), Voice Dialoguing, and the advanced techniques of Reiki, as well as new technologies such as the
DreamWeaver®, the
Freeze-Framer® from HeartMath Institute, and auto-programming tapes/CD's such as the "Human Plus" materials produced by the Monroe Institute.
Reiki, Meditation, Qigong, Tai Chi, and Yoga come from Japan, India, China, and Tibet. Most of you have never heard of Reiki, while most probably have heard of meditation because of its mainstream popularity, and a few may have learned a

form of meditation from the martial arts or even as part of Special Ops training. Just about everyone has heard of yoga with its mainstream popularity and widespread availability, while Qigong and Tai Chi may be familiar from martial arts training, perhaps from movies or television.
All of these are forms of mind body medicine, a general term applying to a range of therapies and technologies designed to help people harness the power of the mind in the service of their health. Since mental discipline underlies all forms of warrior training, warriors have no difficulty understanding and applying the techniques of mind/body medicine. For loved ones who have not had the benefit of intense mental conditioning, we teach easy access techniques that put the power of mind/body medicine in the service of everyone.
The modalities we particularly recommend to those in the warrior professions are Reiki, Meditation, and Qigong. These three provide a combination of benefits including fast healing effect and ease of use, along with a range of options for busy schedules and optimum synergistic effect when the three are done together.
Reiki provides immediate, always available, hands-on assistance anywhere, anytime in a wide range of medical problems with no visible apparatus or actions. Reiki also provides excellent long term health benefits when used over time.
Meditation is for long term benefits rather than immediate effect. While the benefits of meditation begin on the first day, and are well documented in scientific studies, the greatest benefits to health and quality of life are subtle and cumulative over time and are not ususally obvious in the short term.
Qigong is also more effective over the long term than in the immediate, although qigong works on the body's chi in ways that complement Reiki therapy on a daily basis and add to the synergy of excellent long term health benefits derived from Reiki and Meditation.
The synergistic effect on health and quality of life for those able to practice all three modalities--even on an irregular basis--can be quite amazing and well worth any effort involved. We have gone to a lot of trouble to make these modalities easily available. We hope you will seriously consider the possibilities.
Reiki, an energy healing method with roots in ancient Chinese and Tibetan healing systems, was re-discovered in Japan in the early years of the 20th century and imported to the United States just before World War II. In the last sixty-five years Reiki has spread from the United States all over the world, and ironically, back to Japan in its westernized form.
The unique nature of Reiki makes it a tool for self-healing particularly suited to those accustomed to taking care of themselves. It is quick to learn, simple to use, and powerfully effective. With a weekend of training you are able to use the new energy in your hands to replace your body's vital bioenergy or "chi" (or someone else

's) in order to trigger fast healing. Reiki is a personal empowerment that is always "on" so you can use it anywhere, anytime, under any circumstances, on yourself or others. For ease of use and dynamic healing effects, Reiki is the basic modality we recommend to all warriors and their family members, young and old. If you are going to learn only one thing for yourself, make it Reiki. It is quite simply the most powerful personal healing system in the world--a perfect skill for those whose lives are about service to others.
Meditation" is a general term for a wide range of techniques by which a person is able to still the mind, emotions, and nervous system thus bringing the physical body to a deep state of relaxation and rejuvenation. Meditators can achieve a state of healing stasis using a number of different techniques, all of which have been proven to produce marked beneficial physical and psychological effects. The goal at Warrior's Way is to find the meditative method most compatible with an individual's needs and preferences.
Qigong (Chi Kung) meaning "to work or exercise the vital life force (qi)" or "to attain chi or the vital life force" is the 5000 year old Chinese system of self-healing exercises and deep breathing techniques that was once the secret knowledge of martial artists and the very wealthy of China. Qigong's gentle, deliberate movements and deep breathing techniques can be described as a moving form of meditation, the practice of which produces a peaceful mind and a healthy invigorated body that is more capable of dealing with daily stress and disease. There are thousands of exercises developed over centuries to assist in healing specific conditions of mind and body. The goal at Warrior's Way is to introduce warriors and their loved ones to the fun and benefits of qigong exercises, where possible suggest appropriate movements for specific health concerns, and to help people create a simple, do-able, daily exercise practice that will re-vitalize the organs, tissues, muscles, and bones, relieve pain, eliminate stress, and increase overall vitality. Qigong is easy to learn, fun to do, powerful in its healing effects. It is a perfect companion modality to Reiki and Meditation.
