Warrior's Way offers a new way for warriors. On one hand, we make available what you know you need--place and time to de-stress. But we also offer what you probably have never even considered: easy access to powerful self-healing methods drawn from other cultures and put in a context just for warriors. At first glance holistic healing techniques might not seem very appealing to those of you who live by the warrior spirit--too far out, too airy fairy, too removed from the real world you live in. And as you often say, "those
New Age types just don't get it."
Well yes, and no. As in most things, some get it, even if most don't....I get it.
You see healing is not for sissies. When there are damaged bodies, stressed families, broken hearts, haunted minds--shattered lives, it takes courage, focus,
will power, stamina, radical honesty, plus every weapon in the arsenal, every tool in the tool box to make sure everyone can come home again,
all the way home. It takes a warrior heart to survive and triumph.
Through family and personal history and because of a promise given to a warrior long ago, I have a life long commitment to the faith keepers, not just to our soldiers who go to war, but to the men and women at home who live their lives from the warrior spirit. Those with warrior spirit choose to go in harm's way physically, mentally, and emotionally to serve others, to serve us.
Whether in the military or walking our streets, those in the warrior professions struggle everyday to "keep the faith" with themselves and with the rest of us who rely on them for help and protection. And they find themselves tested over and over in a world where "faith keeping" is neither honored nor encouraged, in a society not really comfortable with its warriors, among people who, after the banners and parades, fear their warriors more than love and honor them.
The SEALs vow never to leave anyone behind on the battlefield. Most branches of the military and
even some domestic services have similar policies, but SEALs live and die by their
code. Against all odds, they risk their lives to bring their brothers home dead or alive. They have a near perfect record. We do not as a society keep similar faith with our warriors. We regularly "leave them behind" mentally, emotionally, financially, socially. Combat veterans suffer the most
obvious and the most grievous emotional and physical wounds, yet over the long haul they are the least honored or rewarded for their service.
Nor is there ever adequate help for the visible and invisible wounds they carry. When the ceremonies, parades, and interviews are over, they are left to deal
alone with the long-term consequences of their service to us and in our name.
Just as there is more than one way of leaving people behind,
there is more than one way of bringing them home--and more than one way of helping people heal the wounds of war, the wounds of service, the wounds of life. Over the years I have walked some unusual roads and learned unconventional but effective ways to help people retrieve their hearts, minds, and bodies from the harsh events of life that hold them captive. Among my teachers were gurus, lamas, roshis, senseis and sifus, western holistic practitioners, energy workers, masters, doctors, and Native American Elders who honor the warrior spirit and remember thousand-year-old ways of healing their warriors. All of it has a time and a use.
In working with various types of warriors and their families in the last years I have learned there are many kinds of wounds, many forms of healing. I have learned healing for warriors begins with "place" and "time," a place of physical

and emotional safety away from the pressures of civilian life, a place of beauty and peace where warriors can "time out" to rest, reflect, release, integrate. A place to get it together. Warrior's Way is such a
place. But sometimes
place alone won't do it. Sometimes you also need information, insight, and really effective tools for change. At Warriors' Way and StoneWind Institute for Mind Body Medicine we have the information, the technologies, and the experience in how to use them in a format specifically geared to the issues of warrior life. So when -- and if -- you are ready, Warrior's Way offers not only place and time but access to information that definitely invites you to think out of the box. And if you decide you want to learn new ways, Warrior's Way provides access to ancient, powerful
techniques for healing and moving on that few in the West ever have the opportunity to learn. We provide the information and opportunity. The choice is yours.
Our commitment at Warrior's Way is to make "place," "time," "information," and "opportunity" for healing in these other ways easily available in order to help as many warrior spirits as possible come
all the way home, that is, to help you have the health, joy, and quality of life you deserve as the just reward for your service to the rest of us.
It is our commitment to see that any warriors or their loved ones who wish to come to Warrior's Way for R&R, or who want to learn about alternative healing methods such as Meditation, Reiki, Qigong, other ancient and modern forms of energy healing, cutting edge mind/body medicine, and herbal detox can do so in a format and for an energy exchange that works for them. It is here in this way I can keep that long ago promise. It is with these I choose to keep the faith.
